The Dermatologist
Dr Faraz Ali
Having completed his medical undergraduate degree from Cardiff University in 2008, Dr Ali has accumulated several qualifications over the years: MBBCh, PhD, MRCP (UK), MRCP (Derm) and PGCert (Med Ed). Currently working as Consultant (Board-certified) Dermatologist, he has over a decade experience in the specialty with numerous original publications (including a chapter in the famous Rook's Textbook of Dermatology). His expertise in the field was further solidified having completed his doctorate on the quality of life impact of skin disease; he continues to provide significant contributions to the academic world. Being a Muslim from a SE Asian background, he has a personal appreciation of cultural and religious sensibilities, and the brand was born from his drive of wanting to give more back to the community. Nevertheless, PLGRM is designed to inclusive for all - perfect for any holiday across the world!
"It's not just about how you look, but how you feel"
Currativ.
The vision was always clear: to create a UK-grown brand that represents the diverse population and its needs whilst not sacrificing quality. 'Currativ' was born as a result. Dr Ali hopes to take what he's learnt about the impact of skin disease on patient lives, and infuse it in to Currativ's premium products - it's not just about how you look, but how you feel.
It was crucial from the outset that our products have to have high standards, but also be meaningful for the end user.
"CURE YOUR SOUL. PROTECT YOUR SKIN"
Plgrm | By Currativ
"When I was planning to go for Hajj, I was really surprised to see that there were virtually no Dermatologist created sunscreens or skincare products designed specifically for Ihram. Furthermore, sunscreens should ideally not be water-resistant (to allow ease when washing or performing ablution) and should be fragrance-free. In the dry heat and intense UV exposure of the Holy Lands - a sunscreen that rehydrates and reduces redness is a plus" - Founder Dr Faraz Ali
This is how 'Plgrm' was born: a premium Dermatologist-created sunscreen made in the UK. With niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and blue light stem cell technology - it does more than just protect the skin from the sun.
'Plgrm' can of course be used throughout the year, by anyone, but it also promises to be your companion for the most important journey of your life. A product that protects your skin, when you seek to cure your soul.
Whilst our first product is a sunscreen, we have exciting 'Plgrm' products lined up - so watch this space!
